When Someone Tells You Their Secrets, Does That Mean They Trust You Or They Just Don't Care About What You Think Of Them?

Ik that sometimes people say it's easier to tell a stranger certain things because they don't necessarily care about what a stranger thinks.
I don't know if that makes sense but I'm sure u know what I mean.

It depends on who they are and the format-

For example, if a person on here that you've never met starts telling you about their love life or risque secrets, that's not necessarily trust so much as them trying to air out their guilt, frustrations, or know due to the anonymity of the internet, they will probably never meet you in real life so they have nothing to lose by divulging their secrets to you.

Now if it's someone in real life (friends, family, coworkers, etc) and they tell you a secret, I would consider that trust based more than anything.

it depends on a lot of things, nothing is cut and dried, look its like this I have a few sex secrets, I want to tell somebody but no one close to home, so I come on the net and I can explain as best as I can what I do and like, its still a secret yet i have told my side of it, I don't want it condoned or defended just my side of things

It usually means that they trust you. A person wouldn’t tell you a secret just because they don’t care what you think of them because then you could still go out and tell other people.

Your assuming they would always have the same reasoning for why they told you an secret. Life is much more complex then that... I dont know why you would share an secret with an stranger in all honesty. If your willing to tell an stranger, I wonder why it's an secret?

Some people do it because they trust you. Most people are just gossipy and will go from person to person and say " don't tell anyone this but...". Which is why usually i just consider tbe source.

That they trust me. I believe they see that I'm an honest persin especially since I try to do whats right and since they see I'm a devoted Christian they probably assume I wouldn't

They trust you. Most people don't reveal their secrets to just anyone. It means they trust your confidentiality.

When I tell people secrets it’s not because I trust them and it’s not that I don’t care what they’ll think. But I just like to vent to someone. I hate keeping things bottled up.
