If a guy likes a girl, why won't he say or do anything about it?

When a guy likes a girl, sometimes he won't just do anything or say anything about it. Though when the girl realizes he does, and she goes up to him about, they either shy away or reject it at first saying "you're just friends", but then the guy will treat you more nicer, (if you understand and are cool with being friends, that's what I did), he then says something that he's always liked me. But then he never ever talks, calls or even texts you. But once you're there, he'll smile and flirt with you. Though when I do initiate texting first, as I always have he always texts me back. Though when I don't text him in forever, and then I do, he loves it. He gets so excited, he'll send me like 70 text msgs, with smiley faces. It seems like he likes me, but I'm starting to give up on him. It's like it's so hard to read him. Are guys usually not open with their feelings like that? The problem is I'm an honest and straightforward person. I really don't like doing the tricky, subtle hints things. Why are some guys just so hard to read? So if a guy likes a girl, why won't he say or do anything about it?

If a guy has feelings for a girl in that way, and he's like the way you are describing, then he's the type of guy to want to stay in his comfort zone. He's a shy guy that isn't used to going out and getting what he wants. If it comes to him, then he'll be comfortable.

Guys like that are waiting for the first move. They aren't really the ones that necessarily like to make the first move, they would rather the girl make it. The best way to get him out of this is to train him, for lack of better words. Tell him to text you or call you at a certain time in the morning so you wake up. Be more comfortable around him, be close to him as often as possible. Invade his personal space so he feels you like him, but wait for him to hold your hand or hug you or kiss you. He'll get more comfortable around you. Soon it won't be that he's waiting for you to make the move because it's not in his comfort zone, because YOU will be his comfort zone.

Guys aren't meant to be read, because in all honesty, we aren't all that complex lol We have feelings, and depending on whether we're shy or out-going, we act on them. If you don't want a guy that you have to do some of the chasing with, you will most likely be really disappointed with this one.

Thank you so much for the advice, I really do appreciate it. It's hard though, because like he has a million of friends that like him cause he does have an ego, most of them like manipulate him. I really don't like his friends, they just are like a clique or something. I want to be with him, but not so much to get to know his friends, they treat me like I'm different, it's just weird. I don't know what to do, cause I just don't want to be associated with those kind of people, he's the exception.

That's really common, and I've been through the same type of thing. If you show the interest in him and show him you're comfortable around him, then he'll start getting more comfortable with you. The worst thing you can do though is attack or complain about his friends. No one has more influence over a person than their friends. Be nice about them, show that you don't mind his friends, and it'll pay off

I think it's because you two are still young. Probably still in high school? Guys in high school are like that trust me. My first real boyfriend was 4 years older then me and that was my senior year. Guys are shy when they are still in school and once they are able to work and socialize they gain confidence. So you will always hear the "I have always had feelings for you" phrase because they haven't learned to buck up yet.

They usualy do give you some hints like flirt and stuff. But he sounds very young and I can see that you're under 18 do you mind me asking how old he is?

I don't mind at all. I'm actually 16 yrs. old, he's 17 years of age. :)

:) It could be because he is young like I said and doesn't really know what to say or do, or he could be naturaly shy and not know how to express himself and afraid that he will cross some line :)
