Why do girls like guys who look older than their age?

This is mainly in high school and college. Girls are only attracted to guys their age that look way old for their age. Like a guy who is 18 but looks 25. Either that or they like guys much older than them who look young for their age. Like guys who are 38 and look 25.

I look my age if not slightly younger, and girls aren't attracted to me. Yet all the guys that have to beat women off with a stick look 5+ years older than they are... Females suck

Honestly, most of my friends, guys and girls, are 1-5 years older than me. I just relate better to them because I find that my life experiences, maturity, and interests match up better. So for me most the guys that I meet through those friends have those traits and are generally older than me. I don't think I've ever dated a guy that was not at least a year older than me, but then again most guys think I'm older than I actually am too. In the end it's not really a conscious factor I look for, but more of a compatibility thing that just happens.

girls like guys that look older because it makes them feel older too. They don't want a guy that actually is older so people don't have an excuse to call them a slut, so they pick a guy that looks older that he is. It makes us feel safe.

Girls do like older guys if they look young for their age. So I guess, looking young for my age, when I'm 35 I might have a chance to pick up 25 year olds.

I'm 18 and look 22-25. I don't think it makes a huge difference to be honest. It isn't really a positive or a negative thing, it's just the way it is.
