Can a relationship survive without "Love and Understanding"?

Is it possible to be devoid of all emotional feelings for one another to the point where you can still exist together without them? ... the real question being... would you even want to?

Has "Love Gone Cold" in your relationship? ...

Like Cher says, doesn't it take some true "Love and Understanding" to make relationships last? ...

A. NO! I have to have an abundance of love and understanding to make a relationship work for me. Not every minute, of course, there are ups and downs, but overall it is super important!

B. Yes, it can survive. I am not an emotional person, so as long as there is no major fighting going on then I am comfortable just doing my own thing and they do theirs

C. No, that is what caused my last break-up, my partner just went cold on me and I have to have some love and affection shown

I don't understand even why you would ask this, here is why. If two people decided to live together and they were going to be lovers and talked about the rules of there relationship then at this point there needs to be many things in play due to life being what it is and how each of us are raised and what we learned as a child and as a adult plays a large role in how we treat relationships and each other. If you were to be in a relationship with a person who you could not trust or fell affection from then ask your self is this what you want to fell miserable each day each time you two pass each other the cold air freezing your 💓 . To me that's like marrying the bosses daughter. You would start felling depression and soon after thoughts of death to escape the pointless life.
So take it as this life is nothing with our people who you love @ respect

If there is not love between two people I don't think any sort of relationship or marriage can survive. There also needs to be compromise and understanding of between two people on their needs. A relationship/marriage is a lot of give and take but it's also finding out what your partner needs/wants to be happy and trying to provide each other with those things.

Pretty much all prearranged marriages by parents work on that model. Newborn kids being promised to someone and arranged financially by both parties are likely to develop into something like that.

Couples can stay together, loveless and emotionless because if is the wish of the parents.

You mean like roommates, "just" friends, or business partners? ! Even in friendship there should exists this? Or I guess it depends on how close/deep the two people are!.. I think with arraigned marriages, they can develop feelings after a while because they form memories together and get to know each other well! As long as there's no hate or abuse going on and the relationship has a potential for a good present and future, it can work!

@SueAnon84 Yes, like roommates for example. Feelings can develop in arranged marriages but that does not have to happen. You can also develop hatred if one person is constantly dominated by the other one. People can also live together for convenience and not for love.

I really like the first song... almost makes me want to listen to reggae again (for ten minutes). To answer, I think there are all kinds of "relationships", but most of them need some of those two things at any given point to survive. But to thrive, that's a different story - you need a lot of both.

Believe it or not, I'm not on the "Cher is a diva" bandwagon. She's a good performer/entertainer and puts on a great show. But in MY humble opinion, she doesn't come CLOSE to having the voice of a diva... not even close. Aretha Franklin - diva ! Kate Bush - diva Whitney Houston - diva. Streisand - diva ! Even Celine Dion has the voice of a diva, despite my not liking her material. Cher? -No Beyonce? No Madonna? No. All great performers, but not diva's. Another test for me is - if you took away the "show" from the last 3, could I sit there for an hour and a half and just listen to them sing? Not for me, but I easily could with the first 4 ! What do YOU think?
