I have a friend that is just now posted and that she has been engaged since last year? Why would you hide your status?

My friend will not let her boyfriend post about their relationship because of her grown kids and every time he does she breaks up with him. Why would a person be like that. One min he can’t post and the next min she is? I don’t think this will work out, but why hide your relationship and not be open about it. ( I know her boyfriend cheats and yes she is aware)
