Why does she stay mad for so long?

Lets say we get into an argument over something stupid. We exchange harsh words. Over time I come back and try to make things right, but she continues to stay pissed off. Keeps telling me she doesn't want to talk to me and doesn't want me to touch her. I will tell her I love her and she will be very hesitant to say it.

I realize I was wrong in some ways, but so was she. I apologized and try but she just continues to shut down. its very frustrating. what's the best solution to make her come around faster?

I tend to stay upset about things for a while.. the sorry usually doesn't make up for it, 'cause it's the fact that whatever happened, happened in the first place. Especially if there were harsh words involved. Maybe she started slinging harsh words around in the first place, I dunno... I try to keep unnecessary things like that out of it. Really the only thing you can do is give her time to get over it on her own. Sometimes my boyfriend comes around and tries to make me laugh.. sometimes it works, and sometimes it makes me even more irritated if I haven't had enough time to simmer down. Sometimes he suggests we do something.. watch a movie, grab some dinner, something that will take my mind off of whatever it is I keep thinking and boiling about.

I have been trying to be nice to her. I know I was wrong too, but its just that I feel lately I'm always the one giving in and taking that step to make things better. How can I even the playing field I want her to try or at least make it easier for me to end things.

For girls, just because the fight's over doesn't mean the emotions associated with the fight will suddenly disappear. She just needs time to calm down. Try not to take it personally when she hesitates to say I love you too, she does, she just doesn't want to say it ;)

your description is pretty vague but watch out for her being fair, if she isn't apologizing and keep waiting for you to basically take all the blame and apologize a hundred times she might be of a controlling nature and play with your guilt emotions to manipulate you. Hopefully she isn't. My advice, you have apologized, now go do something else and let her do her part of the work too, a relationship takes two persons working not just one doing all the dirty work and the other making him/her feel bad on top of it

Well, girls will getmuch more offended about things you say than a guy will. Also, on the dark side of girls, sometimes they will use something you said to make you feel guilty and won't stop using it as a method to control you. Can't really tell if its that or just she's still upset since you didn't put any essential details about what was said/fought about.

girls sometimes stay mad to see how much their guy cares about them. I would suggest telling her that you really care about her and want her to show you respect. also tell her your working on showing her more respect or it might backfire.
