What are some signs your boyfriend is seeing you as wife material and what constitutes wife material in a girl/woman to you?

My boyfriend sees me as wife material. I think a really good way is to start on the right foot. Let him know that when you are dating him, you won't settle for being a second fiddle, and that there is NO room for a second or third or anyone else (unless you are both poly and are looking for that, in which case he should respect you as also being able to have playmates).

Two, if you haven't already, try to figure out where he is "conceptually" about marriage and being married. Does he equate marriage to "being trapped" or "something two people build together." The former means, no matter how great you are, it's not even on his radar because he's not ready to be married, let alone want to be married to anyone. If he's leaning on the latter side, try continue the conversation by testing how much he expects to sacrifice or what standard would he expect to hold himself accountable once married.

One thing I asked my boyfriend was, so what does it mean to be a good husband? At the time, he looked at me like a goldfish because we don't often question the relationship work good men need to do to become good husband material. For women, It's not just enough to be a caring girlfriend, you have to also be the dutiful wife. So why not also flip the standard because I know several immature men that go about thinking they will be able to get and keep a wife just because they have a decent job and they are old enough.

Maintaining a marriage, regardless of gender, means not taking a job because it means the extra commute is going to make you grumpier and that extra 10k salary increase isn't worth being a diva over dishes. Being married means unlearning everything you thought you knew about "putting your career first" because you really have to make decisions to route your energy Towards the relationship and making someone else feel like they have love and respect to "come home to."

Being a marital partner is looking at the 5, 10, 50 year potential of the person sitting next to you. It is seeing their parents as your parents, who you will one day help take care of. A person who sees you as wife material (but also have the ability to keep an acquired wife) is one that understands that your lives are one. He includes you in his plans, he integrates you into his family/closest friends, he is more likely to ask for your permission than risk asking for forgiveness later. A man that is very serious about you will very promptly address any insecurities you have and he will not want to be left wondering if you can do better - he will ask you what he can do better to keep you. So... Introducing you to friends and family for starters. Then just talks to you about the serious stuff he has going on in his life. Wanting to do things with you and doing things more in line with a serious relationship like hand holding, higher priced gifts, ... More mature things...

But what makes a girl a wife? Care and concern. True love for them and those directly involved with their life. Respect and interest in the things that they are interested in and care about.
Affection and trust. This all naturally happens the closer you get to a person

For me to see someone as wife material they'd need to know how to cook and clean, want to get married and have kids and be someone I have a good connection/chemistry with, have a good heart and be someone I feel genuinely comfortable around and just see as someone I could and would raise a family with and would want to.

There's nothing particular in terms of signs. He either is a guy who is interested in marriage, or he isn't. Not a whole of in-between. You guys would need to have a conversation about it. But don't pressure him. Guys don't like pressure when it comes to this subject.

What constitutes as wife material to me is a woman who understands my traits, has an equal sense of humour to me, knows when to relax and we both love each other's company. Trust and honesty also go in hand with this.
