How would you feel if your partner made fun of your height?

Question

So we were watching Dragon Ball (at her request obviously) and this scene came up.

She joked this is something I could wish for since I'm not very tall (162cm).
I laughed but also told her she's just a handful cms taller than me, plus I can't really grow anymore.
Maybe she was teasing but I found the joke stupid.

I would get really offended by it, as that is admittedly a sore point for me and my biggest insecurity. I've been stuck at 180 cm since I was ten years old and *almost* every male friend I've had was taller than me. Most of my girlfriends were around my height, as well. Shortest I dated was 176 and tallest was 197. I would wish for 15 extra centimeters to be my dream height! Tall but not TOO tall, like 207 or something! But yeah, I bet Vegeta also shares the same wish as Frieza and me.

This joke doesn't make that much sense though, as one, the Japanese are really short people by themselves so height is rarely brought up there, and two, as pointed out to Frieza, two inches more hardly means a thing, cause he'd still be short AF. (And three, Frieza's probably gay, anyway. Men don't care how tall you are.)

I am 6 foot high but I know how it feels if somebody makes fun of me because of a body size. My penis is only 2"8 Inches long and so it happened often my girl friend made fun if it. And my nickname often was 'shorty" . Its not so funny and often its not easy to handle.

I’m not tall so I can relate I’m 157 cm and all my boyfriends have teased me everyone does. If she likes you then she didn’t mean the joke to hurt you. If you were taller you’d tease her too. I usually find other jokes to make of them 😈 you can’t tease me about my height and get away with it. But at the same time no matter how horrible the joke is I know they still care. And if I’m uncomfortable with the joke I’ll be open to them about it and not In an aggressive manner. 🤔 you know you’re not going to be tall again 🤔 have you accepted it. Because if you can’t accept yourself then no short jokes will be funny. I’ve learned that.

To answer your question, if she knows you're not okay with jokes about your height she should stop. And if she isn't content with your height she should leave, its nit like you're married.

I don't mind much or at all being 5.3" what actually did hurt me very much every day was being that fat girl in school, I would see that other girls my age would be bigger than I and yet they wouldn't get them looks or comments from the other students like they did with me. Them were bad years, now the people I know from my school year and many others don't even recognizes me when I say hi or if we run into each other at some places.

I would ask them if it bothers them like does your height bother them? And you can explain to them if it does then that’s a personal problem and that you don’t care because this is the way you are and if your offended by it definitely let her know that

I'm 5'2" and my boyfriend sometimes teases me playfully about being small and petite like a little child. I don't mind his comments but I've had other women make comments about how when they stand next to me i look smaller than they expected. It honestly depends on the tone.

I'm over a foot taller than my woman. But I have a gut so lets change it up a bit and say she was making fun of my weight. I would be really upset with her, especially since she knows I dedicate 4-5 days a week at the gym and count my calories to try to keep myself in shape. But she's not that kind of woman thankfully. In fact she's the one who held my hand and boosted my confidence saying it was my soul she was really in love with, not my body.

Well. This happens to me a lot at just 5ft tall. But generally in a well-meaning and teasing fashion. I might feel much differently if I were a man, though. Being short isn't generally much of a liability for a woman.
