MUCH depends upon HOW MUCH societal prejudicial alienation they'd be prepared to live with in an ongoing basis, even if they chose to be 'childless' or to adopt.

Knowing how insidiously 'racist' MY immediate family are, I denied myself the possibility of any romantic entanglements with other than caucasian females. It is UNFAIR to become a couple, excluded from all functions familially related.

My wife and myself have been excluded from a grandparents relationship with her eldest son's family from her first marriage... presumably upon the basis of our faith differing from their's. We've been asked to cease all contact; I explained that as their son & daughter mature and SHOULD they EVER contact us, we WILL lay 'credit where credit is due' for their alienation! In the end, we ALL must answer to our Maker!

In UK, it is quite legal. As an amateur genealogist, I have come across several cases in my own ancestry.

Personally, I have nothing against it, although it might raise a few eyebrows with friends and family.

There would be many instances in which I would, or could "prevent" my daughter to fall in love with family and that's as much I would could or try to do, to try and talk things through with both and more relatives, so... if whatever they have is truly love and persists and insists years of "intervention" of reasoning, well... she must have my stubborn genes after all and then I would know what to do, or what not to do in this case, which is to get on her way, and surely not if there's a true love, even if it is for a cousin.

I'm Muslim and marry first cousins is allowed so I'm fine with it. The issue is when people insist on only marrying first cousins multigenerationally then you see dodgy stuff.

Actually I only know of one family where the parents were first cousins and all of their kids are drop-dead gorgeous and some of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. They are Ethiopian. I don't know if they are first cousins or more distant.

I had a girlfriend from Pakistan and she told me that in rural areas of Pakistan some families insist only marrying any cousins and she says sometimes it will happen where there's like the defects and stuff because they just marry within the same gene pool too much.
