Curious as to why people cheat?

If you’ve ever cheated on a partner….. please leave a comment as to why you did this? I find it hard to understand why people cheat and what makes them consider doing it etc. No judgment towards anyone who has cheated I’m just curious.

Its possibly harder to think of when you are 19 years old , and everything is forever , the one thing that is for sure is not much really does last forever. You are looking at it from a black / white perspective , you have boyfriend , you won't cheat , so you split and go with another guy , hence thats not cheating? technically its not , but you finished the first to take on the second , so really all one in the same.
Get marriage or live in involved , and financial elements apply , so as " variety is the spice of life " the fact is the vast majority of people will stray at some point , you simply can't just have one lover for the term of your entire life , youd be saying " Hell , this is it " ? Just like an old pair of well fitting shoes that you love , then you see the brand new adidas " Wow , what would they be like " , the moralistic brigade peach constant fidelity , but the realistic facts of life are vastly different.
Now , at my stage of life , its far easier to be faithful , I would not wish to ruin what I have , but the actual number of utter , one time , life partners , would run at a tiny , tiny percentage , and at an early stage of life dont put that ultimate pressure on yourself , roll with the punches as they will come , and they 'll come often.
Life is never black / white , but is many , many , many shades of grey.

They dont care, they dont have what they want from the person they are with. Instead of going through the whole break up scene just fuck and move on with someone else. Or someone had the right charisma and endowmnet the woman wanted. Immediate regret but its usually too late by that time.

That's like asking a criminal why they broke the law. You will seldom get a truthful answer. Just know that if you date someone who's cheated, the odds are super low that they can be loyal to you. I won't say never... just almost never happens.

First this question has been asked literally thousands of times on here, the search button exists, the fact that it's never used shows laziness.

Second, people who cheat are selfish, no more no less. They are not capible of loving anyone but them selves. So they feel like it's justified to destroy someone that loves and cares for them.

cheating is bad. The reasons vary from person to person. but I don't think any justification is valid for cheating. There are those who are bored with their spouses, there are those who do not love their spouses, there are those who have broken relationships. people like this cheat on their wives

Simple a mix between enjoying something taboo or the aspect off could be caught not being happy but instead off fixing the issue u look outside off a relationship or simply not caring about your partner and wanting sex/lusting still from others

I only did this once in my life at 16. I confessed it and she dumped me a week later. Even back then I knew it was wrong.

Since then I’ve always been loyal. I don’t use my “feelings” to justify doing that to someone.

They settled with the wrong person because they didn't have many options at the time lol

Maybe but I've also heard many times about women who loved everything the guy did at first, then X years later when he hasn't changed but she has changed, she has major problems with most of what he does. From a guy's POV that makes no sense but I do get that it takes two people to make or break a relationship.

That happens but in your first post it sounds like you were saying they knowingly settled for the wrong guy. In this later post it sounds like they unknowingly settled for the wrong guy. But yeah, it can go either way. I have way less sympathy for people who stay with a cheater on purpose. Usually people figure out their man/woman is a cheater. Will Smith for example knew for a long time before it went public.
