My dad. We hang out together more than anyone in my life and watch old Elvis and 60s animated spiderman (you know, the one with the terrible animation) specials all the time. He's also the one who taught me guitar (I learned piano/keyboard on my own) when I was a kid. He learned from Neil Young in Toronto back before he became famous in the 70s.
Having said that, my dad and I don't actually have a whole lot in common and I don't actually think he knows all that much about me. Tbh I don't know a huge amount about his early life either, he was already 36 when I was born. He comes from a more racist and less interested time when kids shut the fuck up and did what their fathers wanted (to his credit, he's better at that one now) or they got the belt (which I did growing up) and I just have to remember all the time that his era was different and he just doesn't fucking understand why you can't call someone this or that or why poetry is not "gay" (he never considers the fact that I like poetry, so that shows the ignorance). All in all, he's my father, and a damn good one despite not exactly being a pillar of moral character and though he doesn't know a lot about me it'll be funny one day telling my brother's kids about him (I don't see myself having kids).

In terms of who I am and who knows me best? Easily either my best friend, Christian Lintner, who is one of the only few people I still talk to from my school days and the only one I talk to from elementary school left. The brother I chose and have known for almost 20 years. We know some of each other's worst secrets because we were usually there for them.
The other is my closest friend after him and sort of "life teacher" and mentor, won't mention her name but I've known her a few years and she's been a massively positive influence on my life since and has taught me a lot that's gotten me farther than I would've gotten without her. Easily knows the most about me after Christian and is also, not gonna lie, pretty gorgeous and sweet.

Think I'm closest with my dad... as close as we can be living in different states and all.

When I was young I wanted to become him. Though now that I'm older and my own person I still have the same amount of admiration (gradually I've learned I really should not want to become him, and I think he would agree). We still share many many of the same behaviors and interests!

My wife is the other half of me so I suppose in that regard it would be her.

The one that I feel personally closest with is our daughter though. She and I are best buds. Always taking photos together, makeovers (my poor hair...), she has an incredible sense of timing with her humor for only being 6, her sass is just... amazing, and she is always wanting the same cuddles and affection I do so we feed off getting to spend time together watching a movie she wants or her playing games I am in.

I love our son equally, but he is sort of at that age he wants more alone time so it is a little bit of a different kind of relationship. It is more based in logic and sciences and I have to put on a bit more of a serious tone so he doesn't feel like I am humoring him (which I'm not, but sometimes mom tone can come off that way).

My stepdaughter, though legally she isn't technically my daughter because a crippling lifelong condition prevented the marriage of her mother and me, but she considers me her dad, despite her biological father being in good health physically.
I don't feel that I have earned the trust and respect she has of me, just for being someone who treated her and her mom better than her dad did, but I will never do anything to invalidate her trust in me, and she is old enough to know that I am not perfect or infallible. It seems to be enough that I try to be a good person and take an interest in her life and the things she takes pride in pursuing and becoming good at, like her career as a commercial electrician and her interest in Martial Arts, which we enjoy bonding with each other practicing katas and yoga together.
She is also aware of how difficult it was for me too respect her right to make her own decisions when she was dating a real crumbumb (appropriate explative not included in case she ever reads this post) who reminded me way too much of her biological father, who had been given good reason too believe that he would be very lucky too be dealt with by the girl's mother if he ever laid a hand on her again, because she would only kill him for that transgression. He knew I would do worse if I got to him first.
She is my daughter, until she says otherwise, and I don't see any indication of that happening within the time I have left on this Earth.
Even though she is in her mid 20s, she is still my sweet little girl, and formality of grownup behavior, is not shown by iether of us, while sitting together giggling at the burns and cheap shots being exchanged on episodes of Southpark and Archer.

My girlfriend. We are friends for more than ten years. I love her and root her in every way possible. I was there for her lowest and she was there for me too. We always leaned each other when we need. I am simply grateful to have a person like her. I hope everyone finds a friend like her.

We'll see there's the problem there's just not one person there's like 50 people and they're all in the same state that I'm in so they're all too close I need to move to another state

Don and Joan H. Have taken me to the emergency room at the VA a couple of times. We go out sometimes for dinner or lunch or just coffee. They are members of my church and we share many of the same philosophies.
