Have you ever been in a long distance relationship?

Depending on how it is defined. Do they:

A) Live in the next city over (around 20-50 miles)

B) Live in a different state/province/region

C) Live in a different country

D) Live on the other side of the world

I started a relationship with this girl who lived around 50 miles from where I was living while I was in the Navy. We hit it off well, at first. I was very hesitant to go for a relationship at the time because I thought I wasn't ready. After I got out, I went to go meet her face to face for the first time. She looked nothing like how my so-called "friend" described her. She looked like she let herself go but had never been in good health to begin with. I burned a lot of money for her because I thought she loved me. She didn't. As soon as I was in financial dire straits, she dumped me and had a new boyfriend less than a week later.

So in my experience, LDR's are a no-go for me.

Yep, there are very useful at teaching one self and learning what kinda person you are.
If you can handle a LDR for year to years your already closer to understanding love over those who talk they know of love then getting a shock when everything goes wrong cause in fact they don't know the difference between lust and love.

LDR's pretty much show you the difference.
Tbh I already knew the difference beforehand thanks to a different experience but i would be lying if I said I am not a better man now due to LDR's.

Nope, only way I would do it is if it was casual and we met in person. Most, and I literally mean 99.99%, of long distance relationship types you find online are scammer and catfishing. Its flattering to think they are for real but don't believe it.

No. You never know who's truly on the other end (at least until you meet), it's really time consuming with different time zones, and they can drop you so much easier than it the person lives nearby.
