What are some signs a guy friend likes you more than a friend even if he denys he does?

I have a guy friend who I have been very close to for the last 6 months. He has told me he only sees me as his best friend but his actions say very different. He always tries to take care of me. Talks to me many hours a day over several phone calls. Text or call me to say good morning and good night everyday. There are more signs but I was wondering what are signs someone likes you more than that admit?

If he is physically affectionate, if he prefers to see you alone instead of in small group of friends and by the way he looks at you.
