#1. I would date someone who is/was broke. I mean I am not a rich man myself, but I budget, save, and spend in moderations.
#3. I would accept a proposal if a woman made it instead of me. There is a part of me that would say yes to "no ring, no knee" thing. and I say that because I would not do those things if I thought it was going to ruin the surprise of me asking her the question. But with the ring, if I didn't know exactly which ring to buy her, or she stated that she wants to pick it out.
#4. A strained relationship with her parents is not a deal-breaker. But if she has berated them all her life, then that shows me she might not be good at fixing relationships and may not try that with me.

#1 I would rather date someone on the come up, because that means we have hope for the future instead of hope to not burn out and crash.

#2 I would accept the proposal if someone proposed to me, as long as I wanted to be with that person. And yeah you need a ring and to take a knee at the very least! The theatrics are half the fun!

#3 of course I would date somebody who doesn't get along great with their parents, as long as they can still be civil and polite with them if they still talk at all. We don't all get along with our families, especially if they are toxic.

#4 in the theme of relationships, why do you think most of your relationships have not succeeded? Is it something your partners did or is it something about you?

If I was a female and I knew him really well and his love for me, I would accept it, but then I would feel skeptical about it and the true motive, I would want something that took two months of dedication (make him do 320 hours of community service, lol) There are some scenarios like college, recovery after surgery, buying a house, etc that create significant financial hardship.

3. Guys, would you accept a proposal if you loved the person? And would you yourself propose without a ring or taking a knee? I would prefer to do the proposal unless, it was a relationship that went on for years. The woman should give me lots of hints on the proposal and ask random questions every so often on where each of us see the relationship going, in reality if a man is using a woman for benefits, he might not get married and accept her proposal, but never do a real marriage, one has to find out the true motives. I would propose with a gift of some sort for my love for her, I have found many people who divorced in financial hardship that makes it difficult to be able to buy a ring, if they pay child support, etc they are limited with funds, you can hint at what is acceptable or have a debate. In my culture the man does not take a knee, he has to stand up like a man and embrace her and let her be free to leave him if she does not want to go any further. If the woman is a partner in the family business, he needs to buy her out from the family or allow her to continue working there.

I would date someone who has a strained relationship, but oftentimes there are some traits that put the relationship at risk of failing or risk of abuse, it requires investing time in marriage experts or for a more affordable option church counselor's. Parent's deserve respect regardless of the upbringing, they have the right to disagree.

5. Bonus- Any random question you want to ask me? If a man could not communicate his feelings and his love for you verbally, but could communicate non-verbally would that be acceptable? Would you allow him to take time to write down your concerns or disagreements and take time in private to think about it and unlock his feelings on the matter.

I think there is a lot of symbolism in taking a knee, and I agree with the sentiment that it represents. I think I will probably do the same when asking my wife to marry me.

4.) I would be hesitant on that one. It's one thing if it was an abusive home, but if their parents were just strict and trying to do what they felt was best and still loved her and supported her, I wouldn't. If you have a bad relationship with your parents it will not translate well down the line relationship wise

I don't want to be with someone who's never around nor present then it's less like I'm with someone and more like I'm just dating myself.

2. If it was the right person then yes but I'd prefer to be the one to propose, girls get the whole damn wedding, the proposal is the guys moment. And no I'd do it the proper and traditional way get the blessing from the parents, the ring and the knee.

1. Someone who is broke who is on the rise. Just because someone is having it hard at the moment, doesn't mean they'll be stuck like that forever.

4. Probably wouldn't do that again. Based on experience, I've found that people who tend to have strained or terrible relationships with their parents tend to be bad partners. Not saying everyone who has these issues are like this, but that's mostly what I've dealt with. I would just prefer to be with someone who has a decently good relationship with their parents.
