Do you believe that some people are destined to be lonely no matter what?

No I don't believe in the common sense notion of destiny but I do believe that some people might contribute to their own loneliness. It's all about what you are willing to sacrifice in terms of originality to be receive the companionship of others. If you live in a town where everybody likes rap but you like rock, if you don't "adjust" yourself people may not want to be around you for example.

We all have different tastes, opinions, habits and when you live in society you have to give up on some part of you to build this persona. The problem is that some people barely know who they are, left alone how to build a good mask so they end up having meaningless relationships and end up alone with nothing truly lasting.

The way I see it, being lonely is just a result of having a lack of purpose in life. People without direction live vicariously through others. They become dependent on other humans to find a reason for living. When that person disappears, they are left with their own hollow existence again. If they directed their own life and had their own interests, they’d never be lonely.

No. As someone who often tries to find alone (uninterrupted) time, but fails🤔… I would say that it’s hard to be alone. The world has billions on billions of people. Each able to connect with a click of a button. We will never be alone again. 😔

But I guess ‘lonely’ is different. It’s almost a choice.

Yes and no.

"Lonely" is a state of mind. There's a difference in just being alone and being lonely. Some people just prefer solidarity. Those who don't but find themselves alone just haven't found their voice yet, and that's fine too.

I honestly think some people are so intolerable to be around, maybe… but generally I think there is always someone who will want to be around another. Like attracts like, good or bad

I don't know about destined but I think we need to be able to know what loneliness feels like so we can experience the opposite.

It depends on the person's choice. Some like to be alone and lonely and they can maintain it and some don't.

I try not to think this way but I'll admit it's hard not to think way at times.
