Would you tell your new SO about previous partners?

Like details of the relationships?
I'm curious because I've seen here in other posts a lot of people saying that talking to a new partner about their previous partners would be nerve-wracking or really scary and they'd be nervous to do it.
Why?
I've never had a relationship or done anything so I'd naturally be curious and probably want to know the details of my partners previous relationships. Not to be jealous or controlling or overly pushy or anything, I wouldn't pry at it but just because, like, I've never really done anything or gotten that opportunity to learn anything so I'd want to know what went wrong and what not to do or how to overcome things in the future. I'd also be interested to know about the happy times they had with their past SOs 'cause it'd be kinda nice just to hear, there's something nice knowing your with someone who's loved before and can feel that kind of love towards another person like you.

You have now all the nice intention of knowing him as a person and his past. But his previous relationships should not be part of the package. You can ask how many relationships he's had so far and how they ended. That is important assuming he is telling you the truth since the point is to KNOW HIM AS A PERSON, not to know his past partners or their dating details.
The more you get to know, the more you want to dig and then you will start to compare. He's done that for her, why not for me. etc
You seriously want to know your current boyfriend spends nights with another girl and they've tried out all sex positions? No, girl, do not do it to yourself.
When you two become exclusive, these details would bother you more and more with time and YOU WILL COMPARE. Plus, how can you make sure he is telling you the truth anyway? He might make up some crap to make his past sound fascinating while they were not even close to that.
Your priority is to design your relationship with this man and not to work on his past. It is HIS, not yours.

It's no secret that I or a partner have had previous relationships. And it's normal to mention some of them in passing, as it "I went there once. Yeah, a girlfriend and I spent a weekend there. We saw this and that, and had a great time."

But I, personally, wouldn't feel comfortable reminiscing about former girlfriends. I'm afraid that doing so would lead to insecurity, and questions about comparisons, etc.

I don't want to hear that stuff from a partner, either. I mean, I don't care about body counts, but I'm not interested in how hard and how many ways some other guy fucked her. That's too much information. All I need to know is that she wants to be with me now.

I'd rather let sleeping dogs lie. It's in the past. We're entitled to our memories without being obligated to spill our guts and get into long conversations about them. I see no benefit.

See, I've never been in a relationship and would have no problem with a partner whose had a past and had many partners before me. I'd just be kinda curious and I don't know if it's too invasive but like, yeah, I would want to know all the ways guys fucked her before or the restaurants they went to or what was the funniest time together.
I dunno, for some reason I'd just kinda want to know all that not out of insecurity but just 'cause I'm just curious and am interested to hear what happened in the lead-up to the now. And also what to do to be better in the current relationship. I don't know, it'd be nice to hear some of the times with exes someone had.
Maybe that's weird but I am who I am.

If I had a child with my former lover, I would briefly tell my partner about my former lover. Otherwise, I would rather wait until the relationship progresses. Reason being, my current girlfriend may think I still have feelings for my ex.
