Do you think television makes us believe in love or makes us believe in something that doesn't exist?

I do think love exists. I think though it is VERY hard for me to believe that people spend 20 years together and don't grow tired of each other.

For example, a lot of very beautiful women I have no problem believing men fall in love with them all the time. However will they still love that woman when she's 20 years older and looks old?

Child, you do not understand love.

It is not about external beauty. People who think this see their own value as merely this, and that they are only truly lovable while they are youthful. This says nothing of character, compatibility, compassion, and the bonds that form as you create a life together.

Television is just a medium through which humans tell and share stories with one another. They also come in film, books, and going back thousands of years around the campfire. They are not lies; they are sometimes more artful, hopeful, and a simpler retelling of a life, but what's wrong with inspiring, or reminiscing, instead of wallowing?

Of course love exists. Not everything we experience can be measured. Most often our greatest humanity is expressed not just with words, but by actions and the decisions we make. Such as commitment and loyalty to the promises we make to one another. Despite superficial changes.

You think someone is not lovable because they are "old"? Then you are either that superficial yourself that you would do the same, or you don't think you have anything else to offer.

I've been married for 20 years and just yesterday my husband offered to stay home with me because a service guy was coming. I said, "Why? What's he going to do? I'm almost 50." 😂 My husband of 20 years grabbed me with his arm around my waist and pulled me close while he responded, "I know, but you're hot." 💕 That made me feel pretty good.

As much as I want someone to love, I don't know if I believe in it the way I used to anymore.

When talking to a girl, I used to ask "do I love her, does she love me? "

Now I find myself asking "is this someone I want to be loyal to, will she be loyal to me?"

I don't search for love anymore, I search for loyalty, trustworthiness and competence. If we have those three things, the love will always be there.

Love is the result of a good relationship, not the other way around.

It certainly portrays it as being something that can happen to anyone, and what the traits that inspire love are. It's certainly not caring about the other person, being selfless and kind, those seem to be guaranteed traits to ensure you never find love.

Good question! I think neither, but that is biased. When I first fell in love it was all the way! I do not believe that TV had an impression on my other relationships either.

Tv promotes bitch8ness too much. Through sarcasm, but it still promotes it/presents it as not only acceptable, but desirable. And at most it is barely acceptable - desirable - never
