What does it mean if a colleague is going home for lunch?

I used to live literally next door to a job and did it all the time. Most of the time I found myself relaxing and eating lunch If my girlfriend was home maybe spend time together and make out at most as after a 30 min lunch you don't want to walk in smelling like you had sex

I worked close enough to my house that I could go home for "lunch" sometimes. My wife works out of her car so she could meet me there.

It probably means that they don’t want to be at work and want to spend time having lunch with their partner. I don’t know what else it might imply. Lunch breaks aren’t usually that long, but if work was close to home, I would probably do the same.
