Should I ask him to get me flowers?

He never gets me flowers and we have been together for 1 year now. I wish he would surprise me with a bouquet just because he loves me. He knows I love flowers, yet he never gets me any. I don’t feel loved. Do you think it’s a bad idea to straight out ask for flowers? Like „You know it’s our anniversary next week, I would love it if you could get me roses that day, it would make me very happy“…is it too demanding? If I don’t say anything he won’t get me any so I don’t really know what to do.

Well communication is key. He might just not be the type to buy gifts as a love language so I think it’ll be a good thing for you to tell him that you are expecting flowers for your anniversary. Then it’s on him to keep up with it for the next coming years

My dudes below are being a bit harsh on this one. In period of your 1 year relationship he should now what things you love. When comes to gifts boyfriends should always do that for his girl, no problem in that. Knowing what you love, he should use that for buying presents/gifts for you.

It sounds shallow I admit it. But look at it that way: if I knew my boyfriend loved back massages and I continued to never give him massages that would mean I don’t really love him very much. Isn’t it the same with flowers?

I never ask for gifts or gestures. I never have had to with my current partner. I say don't ask and hope he does the nice thing and get you flowers or something for your anniversary.
