Like the title says, how did you overcome your trust issues? It could be if you were single, with your current partner or a previous partner. Put hear your stories and advice here

It's hard, I'll give you that. You just need to go for it. I know, sounds like crappy advice. You do just need to put yourself out there. Now, don't do anything stupid and trust some stranger on the street. I know that's not what you mean anyway, but I just thought I had to throw that out there. If you're with someone you've known for a while, trust them with the little things. For example, trust them to water you plants. Over time, give them tasks that require more and more trust. Eventually you will have complete faith in them. Trust me, I've done this.

That's a good way to think about it. What about when it comes to dating and relationships? How would you overcome trust issues in that regard?

Similar thing. Trust them with small things. For example, share a secret most people who know you know about. Something that isn't too risky. As they prove to be loyal, raise the stakes.

Let them in as they prove themselves, don't be so untrusting that they can't get in at all otherwise you are going to be a lonely fucker
