Is it likely my boyfriend will find out we're not the perfect family?

We've been dating for nearly 4 months now. He gets along with my family. However, we're not the always happy, perfect family as displayed.

He comes from a broken family and seems happy about my upbringing. The last thing I want him is get him disappointed upon seeing their real side behind closed doors. My mother displays practically all the symptoms of BPD (borderline personality disorder) and he's unware of that. She hasn't blown up on any reunions he got invited to but it can happen.

He must be thinking that everything is too good to be true. It is. I'm at an age I can't afford another break-up nor another dead-end relationship (I can't make the same mistakes) and get what I can. But honestly, is it likely he'll ever find out we're not the perfect family?

Are you nearing some expiry date or what, by grace? Actually, in a love relationship, it should be you to inform him about the truth regarding your family (and the other way round too of course).

There is no such thing as a 'perfect family'. If he is your guy you should be able to talk about these stuff. Moreover it looks like he already shared his family problems, how could this be a problem? Probably if you talk honestly this will bring you closer.
