For the two males spamming the females in the comment section for attention, please go get laid. It's so sad watching you harass and down vote whatever women say.
When I first read the question my knee-jerk response was - I respect women very much. I've never done anything that could be construed as disrespectful toward women.
But then I thought about it more and realized that respect is not merely how we behave. There's also personal attitudes that can be respectful or disrespectful - even if those attitudes are completely repressed and have never affected our behavior (which I doubt is completely possible - repressed attitudes have a way of affecting at least some of our actions no matter how hard we try to repress them).
Anyway, as I search my internal emotional baggage, I must admit I have at times harbored feelings of resentment toward women. Some of these resentments could be characterized as a lack of respect.
But in each case the deeper I analyze my resentment or disrespect the more I realize that women aren't the problem - but rather it is my own hangups, my own character flaws that form the kernel of these negative feelings.
For example, growing up I was quiet, I was not particularly charismatic, or funny. As such, I didn't have much of a social life with girls when I was in high school and college. This bothered me, as I wanted to be popular with girls just as much as any straight guy in his late teens/early twenties. But it wasn't in the cards for me.
In my mind, I secretly resented the girls who hung with the popular guys and avoided the "nice guys" like me. I viewed those guys as having accomplished something (say, having worked hard to be a good athlete, or a kick ass guitar player) or having some natural talent (say, being naturally funny and/or charismatic). In short, they accomplished something.
But I viewed many of the girls who hung around these guys as having accomplished nothing, and possessing zero talent, humor or charisma. Yet they got to be part of the "in crowd" just because they were girls. They hadn't worked at any skill to earn their way into the in crowd.
It just seemed unfair that girls didn't need any talent to be popular, while guys constantly had to prove themselves.
As I got older and wiser I realized it isn't a bed or roses being a girl either. In fact you could argue that young women have it much harder than young men. Maybe. Maybe not. Each sex has its own set of unfair cards dealt to some and not others.
But perception can be just as impactful as reality. And I had perceptions about girls that eventually turned into resentments, and lack of respect.
So, yes, inwardly I have had some lack of respect for women. I have mostly grown out of that way of thinking, though I admit I occasionally find myself falling back into my old ways.
I love that so many of these answers are "Uh, PERSONALLY, uhhhh yknow just uhm like well they have to fit yknow my standards and be uh yknow deserving of my respect.."
That's not the question at all. The question isn't talking about the girl you just met, it's talking about women in general. None of these people even state their "standards" probably because it's something sexist. 💀💀💀
That's funny, what you just said about men, sounds like the exact same thing I hear women say about men. That's a double standard. Not to mention the person asking is using a photo of them holding their boob as their avatar, yet wants to know if men respect them. I find that a bit ironic. So it's kind of hard for us men to take the asker seriously.

I don't think men have ever respected women. Note respect and respectful are two different words. Pyschacks discusses the difference.
In male culture respect is a major aspect. In hunter and gatherer days, a hunt would not have gone well if we all charged off with our spears and didn't respect the hunt master and took his directions. In the workplace we have the same attitude to our boss. He better not f' up much though. Similar attitude to the captain in team sports. We respect those who do things better than we do and would like to emulate them.
See the point here? We feel respect for those who do things better in a male world things.
I have certainly felt respect for some female bosses and learnt from them. It is not as if I will feel respect for a female who doesn't do things better. Or does things, however well, that I simply don't regard as of any importance. Certainly not because she is female.
Now respectful is different to respect. The synonym is really honoring. It is somewhat natural to honor the female role in society. Moms, right? The granma matriarch is to be honored. Now as part of that honoring we might hold back and let a female go into a shop before us. We might even open the door for her.
Your probably spotting the problem. Respectful is a two way street and in a lot of ways there is not much coming back from the female side. I might be abused for opening the door rather than thanked for the courtesy.
The second side, is that honoring the female role is strongly oriented to the traditional roles of women. Feminism is strongly opposed to this so being respectful has faded out of society.
I'll illustrate this with a sentence. If you have got your tits out, I will be respectful of your right to show them off, but it doesn't mean I respect you no matter how much I like your tits.
What do you mean by 'respect?' I see this word get thrown around, but 'respect' is type of envy where you admire something for what they have achieved. If you mean decency, then yeah sure, but respect? No. There are too many American women who think that since they are born and breath air somehow through some means think they are deserving of respect. When a woman invents a one shot cure all for cancer, then sure she can say that she deserves respect, but here is something people don't understand, especially American women, and that is people who are deserving of respect don't demand it of people, because they are, for a lack of a better word, are content and in love with their accomplishments. The fact that they overcame personal obstacles and limitations to achieve what ever it is that defines them is good enough for them.
And since I'm talking about the follies of American women, MGTOWs are closeted homos who don't understand subjects as history and psychology and lack any self awareness that they are just really feminists for men. Have a wonderful day.
I much more than just respect them, and I don't consider myself as merely 'putting up with them'. I usually worship the ground they walk on, and I truly believe that the primary purpose of my existence is to please the superior female at all times.
In addition to my philosophy of always placing a woman on a pedestal and worshipping the ground she walks on, I'm also of the belief that women are obviously superior to their male counterparts, even though this isn't always readily apparent in our day to day lives.

But anyway women obviously behave differently than men and vice versa. There are even differences in brain structure that impact how we see and judge the world.
I can’t generalize all women. There are some men want nothing to do with and there are some women who I really like and respect w/o any other agenda.
With that said there are some tendencies in women I find extremely annoying. For examine gossiping and backbiting. Both genders are completely capable of this but I find women do this crap more. It’s annoying at best but disgusting and low at worst.
A woman puts up with cramps, bloating, and mood swings once a month. Guys, ya gotta admit, the only time you get bloated is when you drink too much beer.
Women get to carry around another extra bunch of poundage when preggers, then they work their asses off to trim back down after delivering. Guys, how do YOU get rid of excess lbs?
Women do much of the same intellectual, manual, and in some cases, emotional work that men do. Meanwhile, they're hauling a toddler around on their hip, a phone attached to their ear while, (after work of course), cooking a meal that is well balanced, nutritious, and tastes good. How many of you guys can say they do the same?

Of course I do. I believe in absolute equal opportunity and protections under the law and culture for women. I admit that I exercise a bit more finesse with women than for men, particularly those bronze skinned ladies trained in the use of automatic weapons like my SO and certain former Marines. But that's called Extra Respect. We don't want to rub them the wrong way, now do we? But the right way?
Hmm how can I put it. I always start off with respect, but let's be real a lot of women lose my respect with the hot and cold, wishy washy, on and off, bullshit. It's a mix of both. I like being efficient and to the point. That way I can do a quality job and stay focused. But sometimes there is some ladies that have other ways of doing things. And to be polite we listen to all that stuff. And that takes the time and focus away from work, and the quality of work goes down.

Honestly I do but it depends what girl or woman a guy or man ends up with. If a girl is narcissistic, all about me, immature…Once a guy grows up he will consider that immature and not respect her. For example, I worked at Best Buy back in the day and did warehouse work and helped on the sales floor. Managers respected my hustle and drive and hard work. The managers who didn’t respect employees were the lazy ones. So respect isn’t given it’s earned.
Just like to win a girls heart over takes time, same comes with respect. But I get the question because guys/men who are sexist tend to have this egotistical view about women, I don’t, because that’s sexist. I don’t want to categorize all women that way. But if I see a girl doing drugs and sleeping around and partying/drinking…I’m not going to respect her where I’m proud to date her.

I have a certain baseline respect to all people, like I won't run you over with my car and I will assume that you'll behave the same way. Beyond that, it depends on her actions and where they take us from there.

Yes I respect, that takes priority over even my high sex drive. I never demand, I request/ask if it is something sexual. in public, workplace, school etc they are my equal. but equal does not mean the same, everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes I ask for help, sometimes they ask for help, if there are days either needs to do things alone the other lets them. It's a very complex formula that I am still figuring out.

I respect women, but there are times (depending on the woman and the situation) it feels more like putting up with them. To be fair though, I suspect women have a similar opinion of men.

I didn't even see the follow up: I see women as 100% equal to men. That's why I don't believe the mantra "don't hit a woman". If she's hitting me,. I will hit back, just as I will with a guy.
Women are equal but in the same token, different to men. Those differences should be celebrated as much as the similarities and women should be appreciated and respected just as much as men
