Do you genuinely respect men, girls?

We have heard a million times about "respecting women". However the inverse of that statement is rarely brought up.

To define the word "respect" in this ?...

do you ladies genuinely care about guys feelings, emotions, & social pressures / hardships due to gender roles [ESPECIALLY when it comes to dating]?

I want honest feedback, so if you're afraid of backlash for your response, answer annonym. :)

Unless he gives me a reason not to, of course I do. I think that a lot of "feminist" women forget that the whole point of feminism is EQUALITY, not superiority. Generalisations such as men having no feelings, only wanting sex, etc don't represent the whole male population and it's ignorant to think otherwise. I sympathise with men over the social pressures (to be "manly", provide for their families, penis size, etc) and I think women contribute to those problems a lot.

Personally, in relationships I don't want to be revered, etc. I think that it should be a partnership where both people maintain their individuality and treat each other as equals. I don't want a man to provide for me and have no qualms about being the sole/prominent income earner. Those kind of stereotypes are silly. Equality would mean that all those silly expectations are gone, and gender is irrelevant. I think people should do what suits them.

That being said, almost all women appreciate a bit of chivalry, but I think that can slide both ways.

I don't think most men respect women very much, but to the guys who do treat me with consideration and kindness, yes I will respect him. However many of the guys I meet don't have that mentality so I developed a hardshell and quit giving a f*** about how they feel. Most guys are just looking for sex and trying to play girls so what I look like trying to care about a guy who doesn't give a damn about me? I treat guys the way guys treat girls, which is I only deal with most of them if they can do something for me, I'm always looking for a better deal and I try to get what I can out of them. But yes, I do care about a good guy's feelings even if I'm not interested in dating him. I try to treat people with respect unless I get the picture that they don't consider me. Then I do what I described.

Yeah,I try to be caring with everyone that doesn't p*ss me off,I like people. I don't care what you keep in your pants,I treat men and women with respect-we all have pressures,feeling and emotions. I am sometimes more careful with guys cause I have a brother and I know that they get offended and well ''sad'' when girls do and say things they think don't hurt them cause ''they don't have feelings''

I have never felt that women respect men. I grew up in a very "liberal" household and all I ever heard was how terrible men were and how wonderful women are.

I think that most women THINK they respect men, the same way white slave owners THOUGHT they respected their black slaves. But I think that deep down, women have never even considered the possibility that men have feelings. Women just tell themselves men like to be treated the way they are treated.

To a woman, a man is just part of the landscape. They do not mean to be cruel, it just has never occured to them that men are people.

Put more simply, I think women treat other women very very very differently than they treat men. They will do casually cruel things to men that they would never do to a fellow woman.

My life experience tells me it is true of almost all of them. Maybe there is a hidden treasure chest of women who actually care about men somewhere, but I sure as hell haven't found it. Even the women in my family don't give a damn.

Not really...The types of men I know are all butt headish in a way.. So I have wavering faith in committed honorable men. I have snagged 2 really good ones in my life thus far though so I don't think I personally have an issue with them. It's just what I hear them say and do.. smh

@udolipixie This is how I think most women feel about men. Men are the least important type of human to them, and to you. You do not hate men exactly, but you care about men less than you do about every other person on the planet. We are your lowest priority. The thing is EVERYONE feels that way. Men are trained to try and protect women, so we also place men as the lowest priority.

Most women don't see how men value women as only sources of pleasure they can upgrade until they look into male psychology and sexuality.

What was sad to me was that more women then men think it's okay for a guy to rape his gf/wife or a girl he's been dating long, had sex with previously, or spent a lot of money on.

Its so easy to say things like that, but if you were a man for 30 seconds in a bar on Friday night, I bet you would be STUNNED by the cruelty of the women there.
