Is my relationship actually unique?

I see all these questions regarding arguments, unsatisfactory sex, mind games, etc. I have none of that in my relationship. We've never had a fight, only a few mild disagreements that were resolved without either of us getting angry or using raised voices. Our sex is great. The only time there's anything resembling mind games or weird behavior is due to miscommunication (we have learning disabilities so we sometimes don't understand all social constructs). So is my relationship really that special and unique? Do people with a similar relationship just not lurk here (I do, but it's for a different reason)?

I think healthy relationships without any actual issues (unsatisfactory sex, fights, toxicity) are pretty rare… At least in my experience. Maybe some people just aren’t as open about how healthy their relationship is, but I definitely see a lot of posts about unhealthy/unhappy relationships nowadays.

I think your relationship with your partner is great, I am so glad that you too are in a happy and healthy relationship — That is very special!

My relationship is pretty similar to yours. I am very happy and satisfied with my relationship. We don’t have fights, we don’t purposely hurt each other (mentally/mind games), and our sex is perfect. Like yours, we both have ADHD, so sometimes our communication can be a little off lol, but we manage it well.

I've had bad relationships in the past, so I definitely can see from both sides of this. I didn’t know how common toxic relationships were. It really has to due with both or one partners being emotionally immature, failing to express emotions, failing to communicate, and not being able to resolve conflicts.

The constant posts about relationship difficulties and posts about not being in a relationship to avoid those troubles made me think that my relationship may be extremely unique

Yeah, I think the same. At least where I live and in my age range, it’s very uncommon for couples to have no big issues in the relationship

I think you are the norm actually. I think couples with strong relationships have friendship, good sex, and can get through trivial disagreements. I do think this is the majority of couples.
I think we only tend to hear about problems, divorce, etc. and that’s only a small percentage when I think of the people I know at least

How long have you been a couple? Do you live together?

By the end of June it'll be 4 years. We would live together if it wasn't for COVID-19. We were moving towards it, but her job puts her in contact with possibility unvaccinated people. She actually just went back this week because someone in the classroom where she works had COVID-19. She's a nonessential worker, she just makes every essential worker's life much easier. I will die if I get COVID-19, so it's extremely unsafe for her to be in contact with me and not be vaccinated.
