Have you found your happiness in this life?

I have many sources of happiness. My family, my friends, my partner, being creative, music, fresh air, rain, lakes and oceans and rivers, having good interactions with new people, dancing on a bar dance floor, a cold beer after a long day, crying on my best friends shoulder while we talk about the uncertainty of our futures, the first cup of coffee every morning and the feeling of brushing my hair. There is so much that makes me happy.

I think that's the key to having a happy life. Practicing gratitude and finding joy in the little things. I will never find happiness from being rich - I know this. I will find happiness in my partner, my family, and the food I put on the table every night for dinner. I find happiness in a new show I found on Netflix or an adorable 'fun nature fact' I learned recently. Wet mud between my toes and the tingling in my frozen toes as I hop into a hot bath.

Life is all about interpretation. I wish you all happiness, and the ability to find it in the little things. You are so small, and the world is so big. Take time to enjoy everything it offers to you. Everything you can see, tough, taste, smell and hear.

Yes and no. Having kids in late 30's has given me greater joy then I could have imagined 5 years ago. But having been unhappy for most now my adult life ot's taken it's tool, and there have been a lot of challenges over past 5 years. I feel physically and mentally exhausted.

Hey, those feelings are completely understandable and valid. I hope you are able to find yourself again and rest and reconnect to your recently changed identity.

What did you use to do that would make you feel physically and mentally rested and restored?

I think a big part of the mental factor is the physical lack of sleep. I've had sleep issues for years rarely slept through night properly. And now with the kids I'm up a couple of times a night with them, so rarely get more than 5 hours of solid sleep (usually much less), with maybe some naps, but at no daughter being a bit of a pain so usually getting up by 5-6am (having been up at 2am to change/feed her).

No, think I will be perpetually unhappy. Try to fill the void with substitutes but that only works for so long.

Having a partner/best friend with similar interest that I respect and really like on physical, mental, intimate level. Typing it sounds like a fairytale…lol

I find happiness to be something that comes and goes so I've always been more interested in being content and comfortable.

Yes, I'm retired, I come and go as I please, work where and when I want, have great friends.
Life is good.
