My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. We call each other almost every night. Sometimes, he just isn't motivated to talk to me and I tell him that we should hang up for today, because there isn't really a conversation, but he doesn't want to. He insist to stay on the phone, until he falls asleep and won't let me hang up. Even if we talked for like 3 hours and the conversation isn't really good, he just doesn't want to hang up. He sometimes makes me even angry, because he doesn't respond well. (I'm talking about something and he doesn't show any interested, for the entire conversation and if I say let's stop talking for today, he still wants to be on the phone with me ).
English isn't my first language, with is why this text doesn't sound really logical, but I hope you still understand.

It is useless to keep talking when you have nothing to say because on the long run, you are taxing the relationship. By wanting to stay online with you at all costs, he indicates that he values your presence and contact.

Perhaps that by seeing you, he can fall asleep better. You have a soothing effect on him and that is why he wants to keep the conversation alive despite the fact that he has nothing to say.

You have to tell him that you would prefer to sever the conversation earlier rather than just to hang on the phone for nothing. It will not bring you closer but rather move you apart. He is definitely interested but you should tell him to cut the conversation short if he has no interesting topic to talk about.

Sheesh, I’ve felt that before. When I used to stay on call like that, even when it’s boring as fuck, it’s usually me building up the courage to make things sexual or me waiting for you to magically get horny outta nowhere.

Is he interested? Yes. The real question is are you interested? Tell him to read a book, get a hobby, whatever, just do something so he’s not wasting your time being boring.
