How am I supposed to deal with this?

My boyfriend has a four year dog, he bought this dog when he was with his ex and after they broke up, my boyfriend kept the dog but he also kept the contact with his ex.. He always mentions that this dog is 50% him and 50% his ex and that the relationship between him and his ex will forever maintain because they have a dog in between.. I don’t like the fact that they talk continuously and that they spend some time the three of them.
What you guys think about this story?

It's one thing to share information about the dog with the other person, but it sounds like they spend time socializing, unrelated to the dog. It appears he's not over her, and he's waiting for her to give him a sign, so he can dump you and return to her. You don't want to be with someone who is just settling for you. It's not about the dog, so don't make it about the dog, but let him know it is time for him to choose whether he wants to remain in the past or move forward.

As much as it hurts, in my opinion, it is not worth it to invest any of your emotions anymore into this relationship. He does not respect your feelings, if he cannot understand how you feel about him still using the dog as an excuse to see his ex.
Hopefully he will come to his senses soon, or you will be hurt much more in the long run. Good luck!

Sound like he is not really over her yet and you are his second choice and always will be as long as she and Fido are still in the picture. I can see this being okay with a child being still in his life, but not with a dog. Tell him to lose the ex and the dog or you will put him in the dog house.
