Boyfriend called my friend attractive, twice?

I’ve been with my 23 year old boyfriend for 3 years now and he’s never commented on my best friends appearance before. But this past week he’s called her attractive on two different occasions. When I told him it made me uncomfortable he said she’s “objectively attractive” and he told me it shouldn’t bother me he said that, he said he loves me and she doesn’t compare.

I would be able to get over it if he said it once but every time we talk about her now he finds a way to call her attractive. I can’t stop thinking about it. Should I be upset? Also, why would he keep calling her attractive?

Be more worried if he finds excuses to be alone with her or tries to get her contact info or something like that. Almost all guys look at other women. Some guys are cheaters & some aren't. Yes, there's also lots of guys who won't tell you they find your friend attractive but it doesn't mean he isn't thinking it.

That said... your relationship is on shaky ground which is why it bothers you & he's not smart enough to know that it's not helping. You're not married... Ask yourself where this relationship is going. If you see it being in the same place it is now 5 years from now, just move on. But I would say this regardless of what he said.

Yes, it’s a problem and you should try addressing it a bit more seriously. If your boyfriend doesn’t take it seriously, then that’s a huge red flag.

He's trying to make you jealous, you should do the same with his attractive male friends. Say "he's so hot". It's wrong for him to do that
