What do you guys think of poly relationships?

I think they have benefits but it truly has to be an everybody in and open to each other to truly work. As with most relationships, communication is key. Jealousy can certainly get involved, especially if two of the partners have been together longer. I do believe there are benefits in that needs not met by one partner could be met by an additional partner in the Relationship. For this to work, there has to be a lot of openness and trust between the parties involved.

If you have one partner being forced into by another partner (example: guy wants a second girl but doesn't wanna hide it so pushes for a "poly" relationship and girlfriend only goes along with it to try to make him happy) so they can have a second partner openly, then it probably won't work out well. The girlfriend will have jealousy toward the second girl and guy might just be using the second girl temporarily. It is complicated, but can work for sure, if done right.

I dont see how it could work with younger couples. it would take a lot of maturity, self awareness, wisdom, and some other shit im not even aware of im sure. I have needs that my wife has no intention or capability of filling amd i feel like at our age she wouldn't bat an eye if i moved a woman in who could fill those needs as long as i maintained my duties to her, the house house and the kids but i dont feel social enough to even look for a woman that would entertain sharing themselves with a maried man amd her his wife.

The only type of poly relationship i could be in was a mutually open one. And itd be because of lack of intimacy or satisfaction. Itd be more like... we each have our own friends with benefits for a bit.

Poly relationships are one of those many many things that I technically support someone's right to do, but holy hell does that sound like a bad idea.

I'm sure there are people out there who can do polyamory well, but I've never seen it in my own life.

Of the many people I have known over the years who tried polyamory, it never once worked out well, and the people who tried it were always emotional trainwrecks.

Well i don't oppose the concept and think that people who are in such relationships are mature enough to understand what it truly is. I haven't put myself in such relationships so i Don't know how i would play it.
