Unless they all have a super deep and powerful ride-or-die bond with each other, I don’t think it would work out long term.

Either they’ve already gotten to the point of being incredibly serious and loyal to one another, or it’s not serious and it’s almost like a friends-with-benefits situation.

For anything in between, it’s going to be highly volatile and be an easy breeding group for jealousy and drama and resentment.

So either be so close that they can overcome any drama, or distant enough to not have drama occur in the first place.

Any relationship that works is great!
However this is more complicated than couples.

i guess for me, I’m not intrigued by an open relationship with multiple partners, but I could see how a closed “throuple” relationship could work.
if there were 3 people that equally loved each other and formed a unit as a couple does, then I can see that kind of polyamorous relationship being possible

It has no future. It's ok to do when you're in your early 20s and "dating" but moving forward with something like that it's just a waste of time. It's hard enough for two people and any more makes it an impossible task. But some people may not be looking for a serious, long term and ideally forever relationship and just see themselves dating for the rest of their lives and in that case it might work if they're sure that's what they want.

People make a lot of assumptions about poly, most of them are usually ill informed.

I don't even know why those people even bother to call it "relationship". I'm sorry but it's really f***ed up and I'd really like to meet the "polyamourous" person who's been in that polyamourous relationship for 30 years or so. Hmmmm. Guessing they don't exist. Gee I wonder why that is? 🤣🤣🤣

I was content in monogamous relationships for a total of 17 years. I'm a romantic at heart I guess. I like putting everything into loving one woman and making it something special.
