Relationship dispute over a vicious dog?

My pitbull Calvan has ripped my wife's favorite michigan walking shoes to shreds and she wants the dog gone. I couldn't help it, i laughed when I saw him vigorously chewing the shoe because the shoe stank and I couldn't believe that the dog would eat it.
Regardless, I agreed with her that I will get rid of the dog so I pretended that my brother from overseas agreed to have it delivered to him, but in reality I trapped it in the basement with a few dozen bags of dog food and a leaking water pipe. Problem is, the dog belches very loud every 1-2 hours and my wife believes that I am the one belching. How can I shut up the dog and the wife before it's too late?

You are both responsible for him eating the shoes, its what dogs do. If your relationship with your dog is so fragile then let it have a better life away from you, you dont sound like a great owner. My dog would always come before a partner
