I heard this a lot but I'd like to know if we do not live in the same city but the distance is not that far, is it still a long-distance relationship?
If it takes more than 2 hours to drive I’d say it’s long distance.

everything is relative. I had a long distance relationship with somebody who lived 1500 miles away. It lasted for 3 years and when it was over i swore i would never do it again. I met my future wife and she lived only 250 miles away. A lot of people thoght i was crazy but it was less than a 5 hour drive. Definitely doable.
I would say anything more than the average commuting distance is long distance.

In my previous relationship, she went to Canada 6 months after our relationship started. There was quite a time difference between us, but we continued our relationship for 2 years. Then we broke up, but the reason is completely different. I have a few suggestions that I recommend you prioritize.
What Qualifies a Relationship as Long-distance?
There is no one answer to this question as what qualifies a relationship as long-distance varies from couple to couple. However, there are a few things that are generally true for most long-distance relationships.
- For starters, long-distance relationships usually involve some type of physical separation between the two partners. This could mean that the couple lives in different cities, states, or even countries.
- Additionally, long-distance relationships often involve different time zones, which can make communication difficult.
- Finally, long-distance relationships can be expensive, as couples often have to pay for travel and other expenses associated with seeing each other.
How Much Distance Between a Couple is Considered a Long-distance Relationship?
How much distance between a couple is considered a long-distance relationship?
This is a question that often comes up in relationships. It can be difficult to gauge what is considered a long-distance relationship and what isn’t.
There are a few factors to consider when trying to answer this question:
- The first factor is the amount of time the couple spends together. If a couple only sees each other a few times a year, then they are more likely in a long-distance relationship. On the other hand, if a couple sees each other more often, then they aren’t as likely in a long-distance relationship.
- The second factor is the amount of effort the couple puts into their relationship. If a couple is only able to talk on the phone or through text messages, then they are more likely in a long-distance relationship. On the other hand, if a couple is able to talk in person or through video chat, then they aren’t as likely in a long-distance relationship.
- The third factor is the couple’s physical proximity to each other. If a couple lives in different cities, states, or countries, then they are more likely in a long-distance relationship. On the other hand, if a couple lives in the same city, then they aren’t as likely in a long-distance relationship.
So, how much distance between a couple is considered a long-distance relationship?
It really depends on the couple and their situation.
How are Long-distance Relationships Should Be?
It's no secret that long-distance relationships can be tough. You're constantly missing each other, worrying about what the other person is doing, and feeling like you're not really a part of each other's lives. But there are some things you can do to make it work.
Here's how long-distance relationships should be:
1. You should talk every day.
This is probably the most important thing you can do to keep your relationship strong. You need to keep in touch with each other and let each other know what's going on in your lives. Even if it's just a quick chat on the phone or a few texts back and forth, it will make a world of difference.
2. You should make an effort to see each other as often as possible.
This can be difficult if you live in different parts of the country or even different parts of the world, but it's important to try. If you can't see each other in person, video chat or Skype is the next best thing.
3. You should send each other little gifts and love notes.
This will help you feel connected to each other even when you're apart. A simple text message saying "I love you" can go a long way.
4. You should have regular date nights.
Just because you're not in the same place doesn't mean you can't have date night. Get creative and find ways to connect with each other. Maybe you can cook the same meal and eat it together over Skype, or watch a movie at the same time and text each other during it.
5. You should be honest with each other.
Long-distance relationships can be tough, but they're also very fragile. It's important to be honest with each other about your feelings and what you're going through. If you're feeling insecure or jealous, tell your partner. It's better to deal with these things head-on than to let them fester and grow into bigger problems.
Long-distance relationships are definitely a challenge, but if you follow these tips, they can be very rewarding. Just remember to communicate, be honest, and make an effort to connect with each other, and you'll be on your way to a successful long-distance relationship.

I was dating a lady 2 hours away, and I considered that to be long distance. It was hard to see each other, with the conflicting schedules that we had. On the other hand it depends on your expectations. If you only want to see the person one weekend a month then it might be fine.
Yeah and I think you both beed to trust each others and dont be so jealous because it makes really harder the long distance relationship
