How much do you limit contact with your lover when you're with family/friends?

My lover has developed a habit of "dissapearing" when around family and friends. Or at least thats the excuse they give for not contacting for 8+ hours. I can handle space from my lover, I've never had a meltdown. But the habit is starting to feel suspicious especially after they claim to not like certain family members so much. Im not talking about an hour or 2 of no contact, im speaking on a full day of no contact.

I enforce family time at least once a month... mostly twice one weekend. And i expect same of other one. I want the truth about the other person !!
