Girl asked me 'Have you ever been in love?' What does this mean?

What could this reveal about her intentions?

I have been talking to her on and off for years. Though it is often months between our conversations, we get along quite well.

p.s. I asked her in return and she said she had never been in love.

some girls want to make sure that you make them feel special and that you just don't throw your self to any girl, but waiting for that special girl.

the first time I asked this to a guy who said "I love you" to me, I was like "how many people have you said that to?" and he said 3 and I was a bit turned off by it since it seems he just goes around throwing that word or term around to any girl he sees so that they would fall for him and maybe have sex with them or whatever.

the guy I am with now, just said I love you to one girl and he only did that so that he can have a sexual relationship with her. She told him that she hated him but he wouldn't leave because of the sex.

some girls just want to know if you are serious. I think the best way to answer her would be "I obviously have not been in love yet because I don't have a girl with me" that is probably the best answer. Or "I probably never was in love because if I was then I'd be with her, but seeing that I'm not I'm still looking" then just go with the flow.

Sometimes, you don't need to think so much about what a girl says. At times, it is just curiosity. In my case, I asked a guy if he has ever been in love because I'd like to know whether he has ever treasured someone so much that he would do anything to keep the relationship going. (if he has, I would like to know how far he could go for love). Being in love, which I have only been once, is like feeling complete like you don't need anything else. Therefore, for me, if a person has more or less experienced love, they kind of know the feeling that they are seeking for.
