my boyfriend and i started as friends with benefits. 2 months later, i asked him out to which he agreed. it’s almost a year now and no one knows we are dating. ONLY THE TWO OF US knows… sometimes i get curious and ask how he ended things with his ex cause he asked me and i told him truthfully but whenever i ask him about his, he gets furious at me and makes me look like a fool. so i stopped. today i asked him why people can’t know we are dating and he firstly said. he just doesn’t want anyone to know (which i know is lie, cause everyone around us knew his ex) then i told him to tell me the truth and he said there’s a real reason but he won’t tell me. so he’s been sulking all day cause iㅤ asked, he’d rather give me the silent treatment than tell me. i was mad and ignored him.

P. S i don’t know if this will help but he’s chinese and i’m black. could it be because of the differences in our races? or?

i asked him again and i said if he doesn’t tell me i’ll take it as though it has sth to do with my skin color and he told me to think what i want he’s not telling me the reason.

It’s because he’s still seeing his ex and doesn’t want her to know. Or also it could be the fact that it’s interracial, I know Chinese parents are strict and they only want their kids dating within their race.

Just because you go on dates doesn't make you his girlfriend. It just means you go on dates. You're just a friend with benefits to him, and he doesn't want anything permanent with you and wants to keep his options open.

If he is keeping you secret it is likely that you are not his girlfriend. You may be one of many "friends". A normal boyfriend makes it known to other that he has a girlfriend.
