Should you wait for fireworks, or a decent partner who's good company enough?

Intensity comes from newness. Though things can always be kept new and alive, we'll never be able to relive first time experiences. If you're looking for the fireworks you felt as an adolescent, you'll probably be disappointed. Focus instead on those things that make a relationship meaningful to you. Extremes are momentary and won't hold a relationship together.

Well its important to figure out what you NEED in a partner to be truly happy and to have a long term relationship, not what you may want. Figure out what you can and can't live without, whether that be specific character traits or maybe you want a luxurious lifestyle. People eventually settle and thats not a bad thing, which some think it is. It depends on what you settle on that determines whether its good or bad.

Sounds like to me you're kind of beating around the bush looking for a boyfriend without actually saying you're looking for a boyfriend am I right?

Because if so I'm not going to beat around the bush I'm looking for a girlfriend and if I find one on this website so be it!

Honestly, thats what it comes down to at some piont. I mean I am dating a women right now thats pretty dang awesome. But 10 years ago I probably never would of consider her as a viable option.

As you get into your 40's all available people have history and things, so you start considering if it better than being alone. All dating wears you out. And then you start giving different types of people a chance, and at some piont some one surprises you.

I think the reason why a lot of people haven't found the right one is because maybe there is no right one. Maybe the right one is about who is willing to put in the effort to make it work, and who isn't.

I would imagine you'd want to expand your friendship circle. If one of those friends clicks, maybe take to the next level.

Good company enough does not sound like long term material. It sounds like a distraction from the now. But maybe Mr right now is enough for you.
