Guys, when you're looking for a mate do you consider her family and her relationship with her father?

Something I have noticed over and over again is that women who come from broken homes and/or have a bad relationship (or no relationship at all) with their fathers tend to have poor attitudes toward men, fathers and relationships. I see it all the time, and those women tend to not see it in themselves but it's easy to spot if you pay attention.

Do you consider a woman's family status and relationship with her father when you are making a decision about whether to marry her? To me, it's a huge deal. Just curious how other guys see it.

Most of the women I know that come from broken family (their dad left) are usually not good with relationships. They have much trust issues and other self esteem issues.

The women I know that have great dads are usually more normal and confident. They don't let guys make them look bad. They have a high standard for men unlike those women that need assurance and constant validation from their partner.

This is just my own observation. I believe that it depends on the person also. If she can just self reflect and think of ways on how to help her because of her situation, to be more open minded and accepting perhaps she could have a better, healthier relationships. Some of those women that come from broken homes, their moms are also not good mothers. Their mom can be toxic too so maybe they get it from their mom also because growing up they didn't have a healthy environment. Though some of them have good moms. Some single moms can still raise a decent human being. :) because they know how to take care of their kids well and guide them properly.

There are definitely exceptions. There are single mothers who raise good and well adjusted daughters, but the odds are against it. Most women who make great wives had fathers in their lives who taught them how to respect and value men, how a good man treats a woman and how to avoid bad men.

Boys raised by single mothers tend to have a lot of issues as adults as well, but they are of a different nature.

Well yeah that's true but it also applies to men. Men who don't have a good father tend to have more issues too you know. It's not just women. And it's not their fault they didn't have a good father. They didn't choose it to be that way.

I know it's not their fault, but I still don't want to marry someone like that because it's just too risky.

Definitely, I have noticed the same thing. Marriage is a minefield for men these days. If I'm going to take the risk of getting married then I'm not going to do it with a woman who already has that huge strike against her.

Very important. If she has a healthy family she's mentally healthy too. If she's raised by a single parent there might be missing something or a major problem.
