A theory is that women may unconsciously seek out partners with characteristics similar to their fathers because it makes them feel comfortable. I'm not talking about age difference, but rather a role model. It may be physical traits as well. And would you say it's also true for friendships with a boy/man? The kind of friendship between a man and a woman that makes you completely at ease with one another, in a sort of platonic relationship.

For me it's more like my relationships have similar dynamics to what my mother and father had. Sometimes the guys I date resemble my father somewhat physically but not all the time but they do have the protective and leadership traits my dad had with my mom and I become submissive to them the way my mom was for my dad

Possibly. I think it really depends on what father example you had. I for my part had an exceptional father so yes to some extent I look for certain traits that he had in a possible future partner. And some of these qualities are: humour, height, physical and mental strength and reliability.

I don't think so, i think the surroundings have a bigger impact like how the men in that country or town tend to treat women. I have always gone for the more masculine characters but who also are gentle and care about me, who are family oriented and calm. If i had a man that had my dads traits i would kill myself. I don't see my dad as an example of what a man should be.

It would appear so, for me, even though I actually vehemently despise most of my father's traits. I think what matters is we stay conscious of it and know what we're getting into. You can be attracted to someone and know they aren't right for you at the same time.

I don't know my dad is very quiet & calm, even tho he and my mom are divorced he’s 24/7 with mom daily & work together. But no guy loves me and wants be 24/7 with me like all couples and husbands do.
so no I never find any guy like my dad. 😞

my dad is always reliable and helps me with everything. Never had a guy be there for me and help me whenever I need soemthing. 😞 instead of calling a boyfriend like normal girls would do, I call my dad as no boyfriend exists for me 😔
