If you're talking about the doing the dirty: Then no thats not true. If you want someone to like or love you to the point of having a romantic type r-ship then you need to not make it seem like that's all it's about and relax take things at a speed that it is naturally headed for , trust me it will happen if you let it happen when it time or ready to happen. But it could be that the person you want to be with in that way is waiting for marriage, has a promise ring on, has the feeling that's all you want etc.

If you're just talking about dating or anything bigger like marriage then it's probably the type of girl you go for or you are maybe being to forward or pushy about being in a relationship to fast bc now days girls could be single bc they enjoy the single life better these days, it could be trust issues much like me. People cheat all the time it's like every year that passes.. commitment, honesty, morals etc fly out the window. Nothing is sacred anymore, no one respects anyone and a lot of other thing are going through that Sam windows. It takes time to find the perfect person in or that perfect person who think they need to find in the world just keep looking or waiting

No. I don't know you personally, so I can't give advice on what you should work on, but a relationship or lack of one shouldn't be the deciding factor on whether you should live or not. Have fun on your own. Learn boxing, karate, or whatever. Join some clubs. Anything that will get your active in your community; the more people you meet the more friends you'll have to stay busy with and the more you'll grow as a person. If you're introverted, join clubs anyway! No excuses!

Not sure if you've been reading these crazy ass post on GaG, but nowadays dating is a nightmare for both men and women. Men fearful of gold diggers and thinking every woman is only dating him for food or money. Then you have many women with ridiculous standards like height requirements and more just to consider even going out to eat; it's crazy out there.
