How do I get ready to cope with this? can I get some tips? should I start detaching myself the next three days?

So my boyfriend daughters are coming back to Cleveland Ohio to be with him for weeks. He just moved into a apartment, he gets them in about the next 3 days. He says when they get here our time together will have to slow down a bit.
