Look, either way, if it's just demeaning and insulting you that's reason enough to put a little distance in there as well. It's bad for your self esteem to hear it and to continue to take it. I am the youngest in my family and have distanced myself from some... some of those long ago... one of those has actually healed to great degree. You have to take care of you.
