How did y”all start a poly relationship? Any good experiences out there?

Those that have tried poly or want to, did it start as a fantasy? Did it start spontaneously, or was it planned and you just knew it was something you wanted to do? Just wondering about experiences and if it’s something that can last? Maybe if it’s a dedicated relationship and not so open such as a throuple?

I've never been in one and would never want to be in one, but when I was in high school, I knew this group of girls that I did kind of talk to when I was bored and they all decided one day that they should be in a polyamorous relationship. There was like I don't know, five of them in all. It lasted a week, if even that. All they did is fight and argue and there were a lot of hurt feelings and people getting called "slut" and "bitch, all that stuff. Eventually, they all broke up and they dated one partner. The fifth girl stopped associating with them entirely. So I think they're a disaster if you ask me, but do what you want.

Sounds so complicated or maybe it’s the jealousy that derails most of these types of relationships

A girlfriend and I had talked, watched some shows/videos about it but never actually tried adding anyone in a consistent/continual way. (We have done threesomes before).

Although interesting, neither one of us believed that sort of lifestyle was for us (inviting someone into our relationship).

That’s really cool. Yeah a threesome makes it intriguing I think but I’ll bet most people don’t take it beyond that!!
