I mean how much money are they winning and are they otherwise being stupid financially?
If my SO won 10million dollars (say 4million after taxes), and then spent nearly all of it on a private jet, flight lessons, and lounge subscriptions, and still thought a house, a wedding, or investing in index funds, was too expensive, we would for sure have problems.
I think while yes it is their money, there is a point in a serious relationship, you are allowed to look at your partner and ask ' for richer or for poorer, are you interested in providing for things larger than yourself?"
If I won the lottery, the first thing I would do is make a date with a financial advisor before buying anything. I have people in my life that are important to me (parents, SO, future offspring) that could benefit immensely from the security and lasting comforts of invested dividends whether it's in an estate, a trust fund, a 529, or some special rich person account.
So yes, if my SO wasted their money on selfish pursuits, I would not want to be with a fiscally stupid person.First I would be very confused why I am dating someone who's dumb enough to think buying Lottery tickets are worth it. Secondly they would never win much more than tenner lol.
3rd If one did win tons if you aren't investing it or using it only to pay for essentials to keep wealthy then again i wonder why I with stupid?
So nah doubt I would be mad at them more just mad ay myself for been with someone who cannot think.I don't think anyone could be truly happy about someone else winning the lottery. Everything they did with the money would be annoying.
If my SO won the lottery and gave me 50% and we made a rule that each person can do whatever they want with the money, then I'd be happy. However, that is extremely unrealistic. If my SO won the lottery, I know she would give me squat. I also know that if I won it, I would try to hide it from her because I know how irresponsible she would be.
My SO has already told me it's ours, not hers if she wins. Likewise if I win.
That said there is a stipulation if we win and that is to get as far away from where we live as possible. I hate it here but she doesn't mind it.
She has agreed though if it's a big win that sets us up for life we'll move.
Young Sheldon is really amazing. I watched him till 4th season.
Why would I? My wife and I enter competitions and lottery type draws all the time. I wouldn't expect her to enjoy a weekend driving performance cars at Silverstone any more than she'd expect me to want a full body Brazilian wax.
I won't be mad. I won't be jealous.
I would run like hell though.
Since in a relationship it's about caring for the other person, if I end up in a relationship with an SO that would be focusing on herself, that's a recipe for a one-way-direction relationship.
So I'd be gone.
Only if it was 'our' money used to buy the ticket, like if we were married... but if we weren't married, then nope. His money to waste and/or win.
Everyone has preferences and not everyone likes the same things. I would not be so selfish that I would deny her something she really wanted.
No. What for? They won, good for them! It's THEIR win! End of story! If they want to share it with me, that's completely up to them!!
Not necessarily, providing I could get and have something for myself.
It's their money! I'm not with them to get bread, I'm with them to get love.
It doesn't be fit a man to beg for money unless he is truly desperate.
As long as they also sorted bills and made sure kids were taken care of they can spend their money how they like. I make my own money and unburdened of mortgage costs I could buy anything I would want to
In the most boring adult way ever, I'd only be upset if we could pay off things that we need paying off first like joint bills and he went off and bought something only he could enjoy.
Well if your not married your not getting half the money so you just go with what they want they probably would buy expensive new mansion an then say if you want to keep living with me then you better treat me right all the time
If THEY won the lottery then THEY should choose what they do with it. Unless were married and they buy something ridiculous.
It would be kind of upsetting at first. But they were stupid enough pay for a small item.
No. That would be hers. That would be like her complaining that I bought more music equipment with my inheritances.
It's their money. They can do what they want with it.
(Though if they spent it on something stupid then I would respect them less.)No never. I’d be automatically happy if my SOs happy.
