Do you prefer your partner to be smarter than you?

Most of the guys I've been with have been dumber than a box of rocks, but my current boyfriend has some education and is generally probably smarter than me and I love it, I love learning new things from him and challenging my ideas.

No two people will ever have the exact same intelligence, as they generally prioritize different learning. My son's knowledge far surpasses mine in his areas of expertise, yet he still comes to me to learn about my areas of expertise. The ideal is to have a partner who triggers deeper thinking without overwhelming you, so similar smarts and a considerate approach tend to lead to more growth and depth in a relationship. I've always found I can learn something from most people... no matter their education or intelligence. My degrees don't make me better than anyone else.

I don’t really care, they just can’t be a dimwit. If you’re truly an intelligent individual, you can’t expect the average person to have the same intellectual capabilities. Most girls I’ve been interested were not smarter than me, I would say they were average or slightly below. I’ve yet to meet a girl smarter than myself that I would be interested in. That’s not to say they don’t exist, for me it seems to be a location and maturity issue.

Yes I would like them to be smarter than me. There are different kinds of smarts though. Book smart, common sense of smart, street smart. But I wouldn't mind if they were all smarter in those categories than I am

I prefer someone who has interest in learning new things instead of outright comparing intelligence. Not everyone is academically gifted, but can have excellent logical thinking instead.

I wouldn't say literally smarter but each person has specific panels of expertise and learn new things from each other and makes the relationship stronger
