Does love at first sight really exist?

There are languages other than English, that have several words for the English word "love". It would be interesting to see which of their words they use for "love" to describe "love at first sight".
But I definitely remember in my younger years, experiencing this.
No. Lust at first sight does and the idea of love does, but not actual love. .. how do you love someone that you know nothing about?
We can be blinded by an infatuation that is purely shallow, we can even be mezmorised by the sparkle in their eyes, but we cannot love someone the first time we see them. We love the idea of loving them because of the feelings they stir up inside of us.
Nope. Attraction at first sight, sure. But not love.
I think so. I met this girl at work last year and she ticked just about every box. Tall, slender, petite, gorgeous hair, looked amazing in leggings, kinda shy, dorky, nerdy, really nice, really sweet, really smart, talented, and watches Lord of the Ring. I said to my female friend that I just found my future wife. She was already engaged though. That kinda sucked lol.

not really. to truly love someone takes some degree of actually knowing them. "at first site" completely negates the knowing them part. only way to get there takes time. at best "1st site" would be a moment of physical evaluation of a person which is more akin to "lust at 1st site"
I’ve experienced it, and I remember her saying she had the same feeling towards me. We were childhood sweethearts though, if that makes any difference. Not that it was just a phase. It was clear we would be in love till death do us part. (Which was about 10 years ago… 😢)
Love at first sight does exist, but that's only appearance. He could be the most handsome / beautiful person in the world and be a total asshole. I don't think you can truly love until you get to know that person
You’re definitely not crazy! I understand completely what you’re feeling right now. I don’t exactly think it’s love. In my opinion I think it’s more of a very strong attraction and love will come with time.
I don't believe so, I think people get love at first sight mixed up with lust.
Girl, you don't love me... you just love my doggy style.
Infatuation at first sight does. Love grows with time.
More like an instant strong attraction that feels so right... I've been there before... it's awesome lol... But you can't love someone you still don't know anything about
His hands? Wtf?🫱🫱... he might be 🤏 this long though.
Lust or crush at first sight does.
Not love which is something else entirely.
Love? No. Infatuation? Yes- but while that can grow into love, it's not the same thing.
My father fell in love with my mother the first time he laid on her.
You're not crazy, you're in "lust". Have you gone out with him yet? That could change everything.
I thought it did.
Only later did I learn she was much more interested in my ability to rescue her from spinsterhood and expiration of her biological clock.
Rather expensive lesson.
No. Impossible to love someone that you have never met. You could be infatuated or lustful or interested or any number of things. But not in love.
You are reacting to your own neurotransmitters including oxytocin. After a few days, you won't feel it anymore. IT IS NOT REAL.
You just answered your own question: you adore him. That is not love yet.
Your subconscious can ping onto someone based on stuff you probably dont realize. Like the guy might smell like your dad.
It can only exist if you already have created connection online. Otherwise it's just lust or infatuation
No, but infatuation at first sight does and is often confused with love
No. Infatuation or lust at first sight, but actual love is a commitment.
That's not love it's just infatuation. You can't love somebody you don't know.
Love doesn't exist period. You just want to fuck him which is okay.
You're conflating love and infatuation. Real love does not fade and isn't intrinsically sexual
Though, in the cartesian sense, emotions dont truly "exist"
@tony_baloney if love exists then you can provide some examples of it. Can you?
The love one feels for their family or a lifelong friend who might as well be considered family. The love we have for our pets. The kind of love a parent has will usually pushes them to gladly sacrifice their safety for that of their child's. Of course there's also intimate relationships, but the whole thing gets muddied and confusing with relationships because there's an entirely different meaning to "love" than there is to being "in love" and both of those are wholly seporate from infatuation, which most people conflate with real love
I don't think so.
It means infatuation.
More like loves your look
Women believe in that.
I would love to think so
Welcome to honey 🍯 moon 🌙 phase
I believe it can
No, that's nonsense.
No, not agree
Nope. Lust does
Give it time and see
It sure can
