Is it problematic to wish my boyfriend had more black friends?

So I'm black with a non black boyfriend. I love him and we've been together awhile but I've always wished he had more black friends. He has a couple but no one he's around often. He also didn't grow up around too many and I know his parents don't really have black friends either. Mainly I wish he had more exposure to the culture because there's a lot of things he just doesn't get. I feel like it's too late since he works fully remote and doesn't have the opportunity to meet more.

Did you choose your boyfriend because he isn't black, or did you choose him because you are drawn to him as a total person? Become aware of your priorities. If you want a partner who is familiar and involved with your background, it's best to choose someone who is already familiar and involved rather than expect that person to change for you. He was open to being with a black girl, so he is open-minded and flexible. You're the one with the problem, as you're uncomfortable with the lack of blacks in your life yet chose to be in that situation. Don't vacation in the mountains if a beach vacation holds significantly more importance to you.
