Me and my ex broke up mutually 3 days ago and he acts like we're still together, why?

Hi guys, basically as the title says we broke up mutually 3 days ago, we were together a little over 3 years. I'm also pregnant. I have told him numerous times that we can't see eachother if we're not together but over the last 3 days he has stayed evrey night and comes during the day, he says it's cause he dosent want me to be on my own. He still hugs me, plays with my hair etc basically the things he did when we were together. He also makes comments such as 'do you want to be with me' I said obviously I do, and he said it probably won't happen though will it and seemed sad saying it. He also has said 'whatever happens between us'. He told me he can't get back with me as it'll make him look stupid, i think it's a pride thing I don't know. He was here earlier and held my face called me beautiful and said I'll meet someone else, then as he was leaving he hugged me, I didn't hug back but he put my arms around him, I said I don't think breaking up is the right thing as we love eachother very much and he agreed. He also said he didn't want to break up in the first place. I just want someone else's opinion on this as he's acting like we're still together but saying we can't be.. It's really confusing me I just want to know where I stand. I'm hurting a lot and very heartbroken and if is definitely over I just want to heal and all this isn't going to help. I need to know what my future will be like especially as I'm having a baby. I'm terrified but I just want closure if it's done.
