imagine a scenerio where you get impregnated by accident bc you were frisky w your boyfriend. he doesn't run away after getting the news, but he says he wants no part of it. would you respect that?

If I were the female I would definitely wouldn't respect that. He took the risk with having unprotected sex just like she did. He's as a responsible as she is. He's also responsible for helping support and raise that child

I wouldn’t respect a man who does this. He took 50% part in making his/her child, he needs to mature and take responsibility. Why would anyone respect a man or a woman for that matter who wants to have sex (mature people activities) but not take responsibility knowing the risks? Furthermore, why have respect for someone who is clearly just selfish? The sex most likely didn’t mean a thing. It was just satisfying an itch. The moment it becomes inconvenient, a person “wants no part” tells me much that they were never into the act to love or satisfy the other person in the first place. Sex is an act of love and being selfless toward the other person. It’s for commitment. If a person can’t love the child they make, it’s a pretty good sign they never even loved the person they made the child with. This is irresponsible and selfish. It’s playing with fire and a mockery of love.

Perhaps, I'm misunderstanding something here. Wanting no part of it is essentially same as running away, unless he just doesn't want to be present while fulfilling his financial duties.
