How to deal with the pain when the guy you love is already in a relationship?

Honestly, the easiest thing to do is just rationalize whatever happened.


You’re in love with him, right? But you also understand that with love, you do what is best for the person, not for you. If that means letting him go so he can be in a happy relationship, that’s okay.


And besides, if he’s already in a committed relationship, it’s a low chance you’ll actually have a shot at him anyways. What are you going to do, sabotage his relationship for your happiness? That’s not love, that isn’t healthy either. He’ll resent you for it if you do.


Let him fly and wander. If he wants you, he’ll come back. And if he doesn’t, so what? You don’t need another person to live your best life. Simply dust yourself off and try again. :)

Well it could of been worse.

He could of gone on a few dates with you and treated you great. Then choose someone else and tell he isn’t attracted to you but really wants to “be friends”. For every woman this happens to there are least 20+ guys with this similar experience.

That happened to me. A guy I really, really liked rejected me and, months later, got married.
It’s hard, at first, but you go no-contact, keep yourself busy but allow yourself to feel. Don’t bottle up the emotions. Take them as they come and go.
Within 6 months you will notice the feelings you once had have gone or have faded.

Why worry over this? Accept the fact that if he had feelings for you then it would be self-evident to you both. He is not going to leave her or suddenly come to you as he does not possess those sort of feelings towards you. Move on…
