Will you be competent to do brain surgery on your first day in medical school? No one really knows what love and relationships are before having experience in that area. No matter how much others tell you or you read about, experiences are necessary for understanding. Prior to that, it's just curiosity or hormones that guide us.

One major draw to relationships when we're young is how good it is to feel special to someone else. It's often the first time we actually feel significant value in us as individuals. Prior to that, we're just part of other units. Yes, people can excel by using their talents and get praise from the masses, but experiencing how we can establish an emotional connection and significantly impact one special person is much more intense.

First time experiences always have greatest impact on us and are most memorable. Having a girl share vulnerability feels amazing to caring people. Seeing how she loses her ability to stand or feeling her muscles quiver when you touch her is intimacy beyond anything that could have been dreamt about. Knowing she trusts you enough to lower all her guards in your presence leads to being more protective, considerate and compassionate.

Don't assume all guys are alike, though. There are many who are only interested in using girls... getting what they want and then dropping them. If you're observant, you won't have difficulty telling which type of guy you're with. Don't just see what you want to see. See what actually exists.
